Ib Just Andersen (1891-1943) was a Danish sculptor and ceramicist known for his work with ceramics and metal. He was one of the most important sculptors in Denmark in the first half of the 20th century. Andersen was born in Helmstedt, Germany, but his family moved to Denmark when he was young. He began his career as a sculptor in 1912 and trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. He was a versatile artist and worked in many different materials, including wood, stone, bronze and ceramics. Andersen's ceramic works were particularly notable for their simple forms and fine craftsmanship. He created both sculptures and functional objects such as vases, bowls and mugs.
